National Magazine Bestows Distinction; Playing Spots Open for Spring Kick-Off Tournament April 5-6

Approximately 400 "America's Best" raters annually pinpoint the country's finest golf courses, based on strength of routing, feature shaping, natural setting, greens, variety and memorability of holes, conditioning, maintenance and landscape management. The 2013 rankings appear in the March 8 edition of the magazine and on the Golfweek website.

FarmLinks First Annual Kick-Off Spring Golf Tournament, April 5-6

FarmLinks Golf Club will host the first annual Kick-Off Spring Golf Tournament, Saturday, April 6.  Tee times for the tournament begin at 8 a.m. Breakfast will be served and an awards dinner is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The format is the two best scores of the four players, per hole and there will also be a long drive and four closest-to-the-pin contests. The cost is $115 per person per foursome, or $135 for single players, and includes a gift swag bag, sleeve of balls, lunch, snacks and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages.

On Friday, April 5, there will be a TrackMan III clinic with FarmLinks Golf Academy instructor Layne Savoie (add-on cost) at 3:30 p.m., followed by a putting contest and TaylorMade equipment demo. At 7 p.m., dinner will be served by new Executive Chef Andrea Griffith.

Overnight options are available at the Parker Lodge ($349), a luxury cottage ($299) or cabin ($189) and include participation in Friday’s putting contest and dinner. Prices are based on double occupancy.
