KemperSports Properties Recognized in Golfweek Magazine’s Best Municipal Courses List

Six KemperSports facilities recognized in annual list featuring the best courses owned by municipalities

(NORTHBROOK, Ill.) – KemperSports announced today that six of its managed properties were featured in Golfweek Magazine’s Best Municipal Courses list – more than any other golf management company. The annual list, which was published in the May 10 issue of the magazine, utilizes a 10-point rating system and is compiled from visits from hundreds of Golfweek raters throughout the year.

"Municipally-owned golf courses are vital towards the long-term health of the game,” said KemperSports Chief Executive Officer Steve Skinner. “We are proud to manage so many best in class municipally-owned facilities.”

KemperSports-managed properties that were honored include:
* No. 2 – Chambers Bay – University Place, Wash.
* No. 3 – Butterfield Trail – El Paso, Texas
* No. 13 – Harborside International (Starboard) – Chicago, Ill.
* No. 29 – Desert Willow (Firecliff) – Palm Desert, Calif.
* No. 32 – Olivas Links – Ventura, Calif.
* No. 47 – Harborside International (Port) – Chicago, Ill.

Chambers Bay and Butterfield Trail held at their previous year ranking at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots, respectively, while Harborside International (Starboard) jumped eight spots and Harborside International (Port) debuted on this year’s list.

Chambers Bay, owned by Pierce County and managed by KemperSports since its inception, will host the 2015 U.S. Open Championship.
