Golf Channel App Re-Design Offers Best Golf Content First with Easy-to-Use Design

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – Coming off its most successful quarter ever, Golf Channel Digital is further building its momentum with the re-launch of its popular mobile app this week, re-designed with new and popular features that showcase the best content Golf Channel has to offer.

With more than 2.5 million existing downloads, the Golf Channel App is one of the key drivers to Golf Channel Digital’s business, more than doubling its growth in page views and video starts in the last two years.

“This is a big step forward in terms of bringing to the forefront the highest quality content for our users on mobile devices,” said Jeff Cravens, general manager of Golf Channel Digital. “In addition to our coverage of professional golf, we are building strong audiences in other areas of our site that focus on areas like social media and instruction.”

Included with the redesign is a new home screen with an easy-to-navigate lead story carousel, an improved photo gallery with larger photos, and more videos featuring news, instruction and original material. Rebuilt from the ground up, updates on the app began earlier this year with an extensive redesign project that included new information architecture and new design ideas that offer a better user interface and experience.

Content features for the app are built around the Golf Central news blog, which provides users with the most current news and information in the world of professional golf from award-winning journalists. It’s complemented by scoring, with easy-to-navigate leaderboards from every major professional tour; fantasy golf; equipment news and information; photo galleries; and original video, including instructional tips. And new to the app is GolfChannel.com’s popular Grill Room Blog that offers entertaining writing, photos, videos and social commentary surrounding the lighter side of golf.

Golf Channel’s mobile news and information app is complemented by an entire suite of mobile applications, including:
* Golf Live Extra: (500,000+ downloads) offers live Golf Channel streaming to mobile devices 24/7 and includes hundreds of hours of additional content on demand.
* Golf Channel Academy App: (350,000+ downloads) offers Golf Channel’s award-winning instructional content on demand with more than 600 video tips, as well as the ability of capture and analyze your swing, and take a lesson from certified PGA and LPGA instructors.
* GolfNow App: (1.7 million downloads) provides access and tee times to more than 5,500 golf courses 24/7.
