Anytime, Anywhere Golf Tournaments Aim to Energize Golf Industry

(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – A new upstart, Golfers Tournament Club, is going live online this month with an innovative anytime, anywhere golf tournament format. It's no secret that golf needs a good dose of energy to fend off suffering from a shrinking pool of players. GTC is expecting to be part of the conversation - and part of the solution.

Providing charity-based golf tournaments every day of the week on most courses across the country, golfers compete for cash, are recognized on leaderboards, and rewarded with points every time they tee it up. Set up as month-long tournaments, players compete against one another on the same course, but play separately on days of their own choosing.

Director, Steve Wiley, claims this new system allows golfers to compete fairly against one another regardless of their skill level. "We use the Peoria scoring method, a time-tested, broadly-recognized scoring format that involves secret holes and other calculations that give players a one day handicap. This essentially levels the playing field among all competitors regardless of experience or gender. It's fail-safe too because it's fully transparent and impossible to cheat." According to Wiley, winning is a real possibility for most recreational golfers.

The new program registers and tracks players, calculates scores, issues a one day handicap, and posts current standings on an online leaderboard.  At the end of the month, winners are announced on each course and a purse based on participation is paid to the top finishers and local charities selected by the golf course.  Bonus: Players are automatically entered into a year-end point contest that rewards more frequent players throughout the state with another payout pool.

Golfers Tournament Club is fully automated, requiring no supervision, instant online sign-up, and low entry fees. It's expected to be an easy fit for golf courses struggling to breathe new life into the game by attracting new and existing golfers to their courses more often. For golfers, it's a fresh way to compete without the hassles and expense of a traditional one day tournament. Find out more by visiting their website: www.GolfersTournamentClub.com.
