Little Golf T.R.A.I.N.'s Donnelly and Weller to speak at PGA Youth Summit

(ORLANDO, FL) — Patricia Donnelly, PhD, and Nicole Weller, PGA, LPGA, co-founders of Little Golf T.R.A.I.N., will discuss how to introduce very young children (ages 2-5) to the game of golf in a developmentally correct and age-appropriate way at the PGA Youth and Family Golf Summit today in Orlando, FL. Dr. Donnelly and Ms. Weller will begin their presentation at 11:15 a.m. in the Chapin Theater, Orange County Convention Center.

A major media announcement, describing in detail the scope of Little Golf T.R.A.I.N., will be made on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 11 a.m., in the PGA Show Media Center, third level of the OCCC in Room W311. There will also be a Little Golf T.R.A.I.N. reception at The Littlest Golfer booth (4649), Jan. 27, 5:15 - 6 pm.

Patricia Donnelly and Nicole Weller envision Little Golf T.R.A.I.N. as an innovative way of introducing very young children, ages 2-5, to the game of golf before they become committed to other sports such as soccer, baseball, football, basketball, tennis and swimming. The Little Golf T.R.A.I.N. program is rooted in sound, researched-based, early childhood learning techniques.

“Many young children are taught as if they are little adults, which doesn’t foster a love of golf,” says Dr. Donnelly, a world-renowned educational sport psychotherapist. “Parents and coaches want our youngest golfers to truly enjoy the game and learn the correct fundamentals. That’s why we developed the T.R.A.I.N. approach.” Says Weller, a highly respected PGA and LPGA member and Head Teaching Professional at The Landings Club, in Savannah, GA.: “Our program is rooted in early-childhood, age-appropriate techniques and is designed to foster joy in learning about the game. Our goal is to certify golf professionals around the world to introduce children ages 2-5 to golf and at the same time grow their own business.”

From Wednesday, Jan. 27, to Friday, Jan. 29, Little Golf T.R.A.I.N. will be based at The Littlest Golfer booth (4649) at the Orange County Convention Center. Images of the Little Golf T.R.A.I.N. and its cast of cartoon characters will be showcased. To schedule one-on-one interviews with Dr. Donnelly and Ms. Weller, contact info@littlegolftrain.com.
