Reserva Conchal Beach Resort, Golf & Spa Reopens Following Tropical Storm Nate

Robert Trent Jones II-Designed Golf Course Sustained Minimal Damage

(PLAYA CONCHAL, Costa Rica) – Reserva Conchal Beach Resort, Golf & Spa – the luxury resort on Costa Rica’s scenic northwestern Pacific coast – announces its Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course has reopened after sustaining minimal damage from Tropical Storm Nate.

The golf course reopened on October 7 – two days after the storm slammed Costa Rica. Nearly 25 inches of rain fell on the golf course, and staff members removed several trees and downed limbs throughout.

Reserva Conchal staff members also helped nearby communities with relief efforts. In addition to clean up, many from the resort helped provide food, water and supplies to their neighbors.

“We were fortunate in terms of the amount of damage on the golf course, and our staff did an incredible job with the clean-up,” says Carlos Rojas Soto, Director of Golf of Reserva Conchal. “While our golf operations have resumed, our thoughts and prayers remain with those severely affected by Tropical Storm Nate.”

The par-71 Reserva Conchal golf course stretches to more than 7,000 yards. Jones II smartly routed the course between the azure Pacific waters and lush greens of the neighboring tropical forest. The returning nines feature amazing ocean vistas with unforgettable holes meandering through tropical lakes, rugged ravines and ample elevation changes.

Consistently ranked among the top-30 best in the Caribbean and Mexico, Reserva Conchal was the first course in Costa Rica bestowed certification by Audubon International. It boasts a world-class practice facility and learning center with four green complexes, bunkers, chipping and approach areas, and an expansive practice tee. Single- and multi-day golf clinics are offered, including the PGA TOUR Academy featuring certified instructors from famed TPC Sawgrass.

Set within Reserva Conchal’s vast 2,300 acres is an all-inclusive Westin Golf Resort & Spa, an eco-friendly retreat located between the exotic forests and unspoiled beaches of the North Pacific Riviera of Costa Rica. The all-inclusive experience includes all meals, drinks, use of the fitness center and Westin Kids Club, as well as entertainment options including non-motorized water sports, daily activities and nightly events.
