GOLFTEC Posts Record Numbers in 2017

(Englewood, Colo) – GOLFTEC – the world leader in golf lessons and largest employer of PGA Professionals – announces 2017 was a banner year for the brand, as it taught nearly 1 million lessons worldwide, opened more than 40 new centers domestically and internationally, achieved recognition from several key influencers, and launched a premium club fitting program as part of a successful brand refresh.

Various high-profile media outlets and organizations, including Fast Company, INC. Magazine and the National Golf Foundation (NGF) recognized GOLFTEC’s superior innovation and leadership in 2017. The company was named among the “Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Sports” by Fast Company, made the prestigious Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America, and was honored as one of the NGF’s “Top 100 Businesses in Golf.”

GOLFTEC attributes its meteoric rise to a talented coaching pool that works every day to help players of all skill levels improve. In 2017, 22 GOLFTEC Coaches were honored with Golf Digest’s “Best Teachers In Your State” award and seven individuals were acknowledged for excellence by their local PGA Sections.

The renowned, global GOLFTEC coaching team is comprised of experienced instructors, the majority of which are PGA professionals who have taught thousands of lessons. Each goes through a rigorous multi-week certification at GOLFTEC University including continued advanced training to master the analysis of golf swing mechanics, the technology utilized by GOLFTEC and the most productive teaching techniques.

“2017 was a crucial year for our business.  We continued to build on past momentum and ushered in some very exciting changes and new programs that will pay big dividends in the future,” says Joe Assell, Co-Founder and CEO of GOLFTEC. “Our growth and success are results of our ambitious company-wide attitude, first-class technology and a team of outstanding coaches who continually strive to make our students the best they can possibly be.”

This past April, GOLFTEC unveiled a complete brand refresh that included vibrant new in-center design schemes, updated logo, enhanced club-fitting program and advanced in-bay teaching technology. Additional details include:
- Brand Refresh & Updated Logo – GOLFTEC’s position as the global leader in golf instruction and club-fitting is reflected in the modern and sleek new logo. As part of the brand refresh initiative, GOLFTEC’s center signage, website, Player Performance Center, GOLFTEC TO GO mobile app, advertising, marketing materials and social media presence incorporate the new aesthetic.
- New In-Center Design – The fresh design creates a dynamic and holistic golf experience through an inviting and inspiring atmosphere. All new locations are tailored for total golf immersion and provide students with new amenities, game improvement products and services, an extensive digital experience and comfortable furniture in common areas.
- Enhanced Club-fitting – An increased focus on component club-fitting, selection and options, ensures students get dialed in to the best equipment for their unique games. The TECFIT custom club-fitting program now offers an extensive array of component club head/shaft combinations in addition to leading-edge technology and software that combines swing characteristics with ball flight data to help properly identify the optimal equipment for each student.
New In-bay Technology – Rolling out gradually over the course of the next year will be state-of-the-art cameras and lighting that provide enhanced high-resolution video for both in-bay playback during lessons and online viewing post-session. These cameras are custom-made for GOLFTEC and integrate with the company’s updated and proprietary motion-measurement TECSWING system used in the millions of lessons taught to date.

For more than two decades GOLFTEC has posted unrivaled category growth, including a 98% increase in revenue since 2010. The largest driver of new business comes from referrals by current students who boast a 96 percent success rate and drop an average of seven strokes from their scorecard.

GOLFTEC lessons are taught one-on-one by Certified Personal Coaches in private, mostly indoor bays that utilize proprietary teaching technology. The company has now taught more than 7 million lessons at hundreds of locations worldwide.
